Is Fan Park child friendly?
Yes, we encourage families to bring along children – there will be plenty for kids to do. The site is at least 5 x bigger than Slessor Gardens and there will be breakout spaces for activities. There will be soccer games – beat the goalie – face painting, some carnival rides many other things to be announced. Under 16’s need to be accompanied by an adult.
5 and under go free and don’t need a ticket; 6 to 12 need a children’s ticket; 13-17 need a youth’s ticket. Under 16s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. One adult can be responsible for up to two under 16’s.
Can I bring my own food and drink?
No, unfortunately no food or drinks can be brought into the fan park. We have plenty of vendors on site, and free drinking water.
Do Youth Ticket holders need to be accompanied by an adult?
Yes, as stipulated in the terms of our licence, all persons under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Does the Fan Park cater for adult groups too?
Yes, indeed. The VIP area is an for over 18s only with a proportionately larger bar area.
What items are prohibited from the site?
You are not allowed to bring any food or drink (of any kind) into the park. We also prohibit; glass bottles, paper lanterns, flares, fireworks, drugs, nitrous oxide, drones, weapons and dangerous objects, professional audio or visual recording equipment.
Glass: Glass is not allowed anywhere on the festival site. Your bags will be searched on entry and any found will have to be discarded. Medicine in glass vessels is allowed.
Animals: For health and safety reasons we do not permit animals into the festival, except registered assistance dogs.
Drones: Unauthorised drones are prohibited to fly anywhere over the festival as they pose a hazard to our patrons. Any unauthorised flights will be reported to Police Scotland.
Will there be strict searches at the gate?
This is a family event and we pride ourselves in running a safe event for all, therefore there we have adopted a 100% search policy and illegal substances are strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated. Anyone attempting to gain entry under the influence of drink or drugs will be refused entry. There will be no exceptions to this rule.
No drugs (other than prescription medication in your name) or New Psychoactive Substances previously known as ‘legal highs’ are allowed at the festival. Drug enforcement laws are as applicable on site as anywhere else in the country. Police officers will be on site and will deal with drug offences in accordance with national guidelines. If you engage in the unlawful supply of drugs, it is likely that you will be arrested. Neither anti-social nor illegal behaviour will be tolerated and participants will leave themselves liable to eviction from the site.
Are the vendors local?
Yes, many of our vendors are local. From the food to the security this is an event hosted by local businesses, supported by others from around Scotland
How do get to the Fan Park from the train station?
There will be shuttle busses running from Slessor Gardens to the Fan Park priced £3 one way (Kids Free with Adult). It is also only a 20/25-minute walk from the train station – As you exit the main station turn right and cross the road towards V&A, turn right at V&A and have a leisurely 25min stroll along the waterfront and you will arrive directly at the Fan Park.
Will the screen be visible on such a large space in daylight?
For sure, this is the largest outdoor screen of its type to visit Dundee. It’s a massive 46sqm high visibility screen with onboard satellite receiving and broadcasting facilities.
Can I wear Scotland Colours?
Absolutely for many who have never been to a Scotland match before we hope to recreate that special atmosphere which has the Tartan Army revered by fans all over the world!
Will there be drinking water available?
Yes. Free drinking water will be available on site.
I sometimes get a little claustrophobic at large gathering will this happen at the Fan Park?
It’s likely we will reach capacity however rest assured there will be plenty of space and you will always find a quiet corner.
Can VIP ticket holders leave the VIP area?
Yes. VIP ticket holders can enjoy the other attractions in the main park and return to the VIP area.
Will there be entertainment before the match?
Yes, we have lots lined up and details will be announced soon.
Will there be parking for blue badge holders?
There will be a number of blue badge spaces available to book in advance and also a drop off point for blue badge holders. This will be fully confirmed nearer the time so please check back.
What facilities does the VIP area offer?
The VIP area is an adult only area with a larger bar, stocked with a wider ranges of drinks and more toilets
Do you accept card payments in the fan park?
We sure do. All of our bars and food vendors accept both card payments and cash.
I’ve already bought tickets, can I upgrade to VIP?
Yes, once inside the fan park you will be able to upgrade to a VIP ticket at the entrance to the VIP area for an additional fee. This will be subject to availability.
I‘ve already bought a ticket but i’ve changed my mind, can I get a refund?
Unfortunately we cannot offer refunds on previously bought tickets
Will there be seating?
There will be limited seating provided by us, however as the Fan Park is such a large space you are welcome to bring folding chairs and picnic blankets to sit on.
22a Events was formed by Gus Robb and Scott Clark in 2018 although the pair first put live gigs on as early as the 1990s while running the legendary West Port Bar (The Westie) – at 22a East Henderson’s Wynd in Dundee.
Over the years, Gus and Scott have been very active in the in the city’s hospitality scene, running bars and clubs and hosting events featuring top musical acts such as Ocean Colour Scene, Gabrielle, Embrace, Ash, The Fall, John Cooper Clarke, The Rifles, The Radiotones, Super Furry Animals, Mylo, Babyshambles, Sugababes, Biffy Clyro, Alabama 3, Hayseed Dixie, and Paulo Nutini. Danny Wilson – to name but a few.
During his twenty-year tenure as director of Fat Sams Gus transformed the venue from a 500-capacity nightclub to a 3500-capacity nightclub and live music events space regularly hosting DJs and concerts with attendances over 2500 per night.
Scott opened award winning bar and live music/events venue Clarks on Lindsay Street in 2011 and continues to lead the operation there to this day.
